This is one of the few sequels that is just as good, if not better, than the original. Both parts of the film are compelling and the 3 hour 20 minute running time goes by very fast. This ad from the 12/20/74 Kansas City Star was so big I had to scan it in pieces. Here's the second half.
It opened at the same two theaters The Godfather opened at a couple of years before. It would have been fantastic at either one. Here's a shot of the Empire's marquee while Godfather II was there.
