I recently picked up the newer two disc special edition of this Kubrick masterpiece. It was definitely ahead of its time and is one of the most beautifully shot movies I've ever seen. I would have loved to have seen it when it first came out in 70mm Cinerama. I did get to see it on the big screen at the Englewood theater several years ago but it was a regular 35mm print. It played at the Empire exclusively for several months. This ad is from the opening day of 6/12/68.
